HYBRIDize
What is the HYBRIDize project?
HYBRIDize is an Indo-Danish project aiming toward the design and operation of a large grid-connected hybrid power plant (HPP) consisting of wind turbines (WT), solar photovoltaic (PV), and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The objectives of HYBRIDize are:
-
Minimize levelised cost of energy (LCOE) and levelised cost of storage (LCOS).
-
Maximize profit for HPP. This is achieved by optimal energy dispatch based on market and forecast.
HYBRIDize creates new knowledge for combining weather correlated generations of wind and solar with BESS.
What is the innovation and the need behind the innovation?
Research on design and operation of large, grid-connected wind-solar hybrid power plant. This power plant is needed to meet the rapidly growing demand e.g. Indian National Wind-Solar hybrid policy and tender.
What is the most important competing solution?
Hybrid power plant software such as Homer Energy and PVSOL are intended for off-grid and not for large grid applications.
What will the project include?
The project includes data analysis, model development & validation, development of an energy storage evaluation tool.
